Enameled copper clad aluminium wire / ECCAW is a new kind of magnet wire applying Copper clad aluminium as conductor, which combines the beneficial properties of the wonderful conductivity of copper and the light-weight of aluminum.
Enameled Copper Clad Aluminum Wire Application:
1.Special magnet wire applied in voice coils, CD-ROM coils;
2.Light ECCAW magnet wire for mobiles and watches;
3.Magnet wire for high frequency transformers;
4.Magnet wire for deflexion coils of display;
5.Magnet wire for degaussing coils of display;
6.Other magnet wire

Properties
The properties of copper-clad aluminium wire include:
Less expensive than a pure copper wire, raw material costs are 30%-50% lower than copper, and replacing copper with aluminum can alleviate copper resource shortages.
Lighter than pure copper, the density is only 3.63 g/cm³ (pure copper wire is 8.89 g/cm³), and the weight of the same wire diameter is 1/2~1/3 of that of copper wire, which significantly reduces the weight of the coil.
Higher electrical conductivity than pure aluminium
Higher strength than aluminium, Tensile strength is higher than pure aluminum wire, but lower than pure copper wire; ductility is moderate, so avoid repeated bending when winding.
Electrical connections are typically more reliable than pure aluminium, DC resistivity is about 1.45~1.5 times that of pure copper wire; for the same resistance, the wire diameter needs to be increased to 1.2 times that of copper wire
Typically produced as a 10% or 15% by copper volume product
